New Year Resolutions.

Well, another year has come and gone. Lots of ups and downs, but as always no regrets. Last year I had more downs than I planned but I read something in publicist(and New York power chick) Kelly Cutrone's If You Have to Cry, Go Outside, that made me realize I'm not having a breakdown, I'm having a breakthrough.

"Things will change: you won't feel this way forever. And anyway, sometimes the hardest lessons to learn are the ones your soul needs most. I believe you can't feel real joy unless you've felt heartache. You can't have a sense of victory unless you know what it means to fail. You can't know what it's like to feel holy until you know what it's like to feel really fucking evil. And you can't be birthed again until you've died."

If you haven't had a chance to read it. I definitely suggest going out, and buying a fucking copy. NOW.

Anyway, I am sensing this year will bring me lots of changes in my life. And I'm sensing this, not because I've read my horoscope and am awaiting some enlightening news or a new love in my life, but I'm going to make these changes. I'm putting myself first and I'm gonna stop dreaming about all the things I want to do, and actually do them. I've decided not to make any resolutions, because well, let's face it...they're bullshit. I'm just going to make a "to do list" and do them. Some may take a little longer than the rest but so what? And I'm realistically giving myself more than a year to complete these things;we all deserve some lazy days.

Some things I'm looking forward to this year...hmmm. New Strokes album anyone?! Hells yes. Also, some Lykke Li, Fiona Apple, Death Cab for Cutie, Peter Bjorn & John...am I missing anything? oh yeah... RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS & FOO FIGHTERS. This year is going to be a good year for music. Lots of show goings and rocking out to be had.

As for now...I'm going to return to my hammock.
