The Clothing Show May 27-29 2011

I was back on assignment shooting for Envy Magazine this weekend at The Clothing Show. Every year since I've moved to Toronto, I've been to The Clothing Show, and it never fails to deliver...except for maybe this year the staple Clothing Show tote bag was missing :( SAD. Apparently there was a problem at customs, so understandably it was beyond their control, but still, many sad faces! Here are a few pics from my favourite booths!

Goin' Steady

Am back to Shooting for The Gladstone Hotel this spring/summer! One of my favourite events to shoot is Goin' Steady. It's a great crowd and awesome 50s/60s music. Also, I love how people dress up- vintage 69 was definitely raided.

Missed it: Arctic Monkeys

So, Arctic Monkeys were in town last week...where was I?! Why didn't I know? Front man, Alex Turner stopped by the Edge and played an acoustic set...obvs I was in la-la land and had no clue... MAJOR FAIL. New Album, Suck it and See comes out in June...(slash it's leaked online...)

P.S. Can someone find me one of these? Any other Alex Turners laying around can report to me.

Book Signing: Kelly Cutrone's Normal Get's You Nowhere

So yesterday I had the chance to meet Kelly Cutrone for the second time(briefly!) at her book signing, and got to hear her speak for a bit. Of course, she did not fail to deliver an amazing pep talk that scared/inspired us, and had all us ambitious ladies leaving Indigo with a little beacon of hope that one day we will be as successful, powerful, and inspiring as her. I look mega awkward and way too happy (after telling Kelly how much she's made me re-evaluate my life since her first book), but I'm posting my pic with her anyway!

The next couple days calls for some thunderstorms, so it's a perfect time to make a nice cappuccino and snuggle up on the couch to read her book. She gave me some great words of wisdom, some amazing advice for the next year(which I'm not going to post cause I don't want to jinx myself!), and overall has been such a positive person in my life. If you haven't read her first book yet, I suggest you do! And after you fall in love with her words, you're going to go out and buy the second book and love it aswell!

Hide the Credit Card: Clearly Contacts!

I've been wanting some new frames for a while now, and I just stumbled upon this amazing deal on clearlycontacts that was truly a steal! I paid $15 for my new glasses. Hard to believe it, but it's true! Shipping was uber fast and ordering was super simple. I will definitely be ordering from them again! PS, excuse the super awkward photo of me...I'm a photographer for a reason. lol
